Towards an EU Criminal Intelligence Model
The Need of an Efficient Law Enforcement Intelligence Exchange in the EU
Abstract
International police cooperation in the EU, mainly police data exchange, has increasingly improved during recent years. However, EU legal instruments, largely reflecting the decisions of the Head of State and Government of Member States, highlight the need to implement an effective police data exchange concerning information generated in the Member States. To achieve this commitment first it is considered necessary to set up cooperation structures at EU Member State level which could provide an efficient police data exchange at international level.
