The Hungarian law enforcement education system at the National University of Public Service: the best practice of Hungary

Abstract

In Hungary the mission of the National University of Public Service (NUPS) is to prepare the staff of the public service administration, the military organizations, and the law enforcement organizations on a Bachelor, Master and PhD level. The NUPS is one of the special institutions in the European Higher Education Area.
In the last decades, the security challenges, the environment and the needs of the law enforcement organizations have changed. In the last 5 years, the NUPS finds the solution for the current challenges. The law enforcement education program was going through a complete development. The result of this development found out that this new approach and the vital changes were very successful. We can see the results of these changes. Our students are well educated, during the education and training process they receive all the necessary knowledge what they will need during their successful law enforcement carrier.
The reader will get full insight about the work of the NUPS Faculty of Law Enforcement and the flow of the practice which experience can be successfully adapted to his own work.
