A Brave Police Force Deserves Courageous Scientists After-Dinner Address At Cepol Police Research And Science Conference 2009
Abstract
Science and policing used to be far apart. Policing used to be only mildly interesting from a scientists’ perspective: the police had some well-defined tasks (primarily upholding the law) in a relative stable world. However, technological change has accelerated considerably in the second halve of the twentieth century and does not seem to slow down; now or in the foreseeable future.
